The original Extra-Old Cognac, Hennessy XO was created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for the private use of the Hennessy family and friends. XO was then commercialized and shipped that same year to Ireland and later to Shanghai. Hennessy XO, the original of the category eXtra Old, was re-launched in 1947 in the now famous and very magnificent decanter pampers.

Nose:It starts with dried-fruit aromas typical of prunes and dried figs. Eventually, the aromas evolve to more dense notes of chocolate and black pepper, mellowed by cinnamon, clove, and cardamom.
