Description
Dom Perignon Luminous 1998 has an intense bouquet of aromas including orange, honeysuckle, and sensations of iodine. 1998 was worthy of note due to two unusual and opposite happenings: high temperatures in August causing the burning of the grapes, followed by remarkable rainfall in September. In 2005, the First Plenitude of Dom Perignon Vintage 1998 was released and it was a model of balance. Energized by the additional amount of years spent in the cellars,
the second plenitude of the Dom Perignon Luminous exceeds the potential of the vintage. “Medium deep golden colour with rather small and vivid bubbles. Pure and intense nose, fine development without oxidation, roasted pine and pistachio nuts with confit de citron, fresh peach and brioche notes. The palate is ample and rather opulent with a rounded acidity yet with a nice fresh bite from fine extract, mild creaminess, nice layers of finely spicy yellow fruit, nougat and nutty flavours with a long and embracing finish. The bouquet is ripe? lively and generous. The warm aromas of hay and brioche mingle with those of bergamot orange and russet stone fruit. The overall effect exudes smoky grey accents. On the palate the vibrant opening strikes the first chord a prelude to a? complexity that is more tactile than plump and only gives of itself gradually.
