Description
Escudo Rojo Red is made from the finest of grapes from Chile’s Central Valley vineyards. Hints of ripe red fruits like cherry and raspberry welcome you on the nose. The palate reveals a rich blend of red and blackberries with subtle notes of coffee and hazelnuts. The finished is balanced with undertones of rich tannins.
Escudo Rojo Red has a dense and deep ruby red colour and is a blend of the Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Cabernet Franc (5%), Carmenere (37%), and Syrah (18%) which all combine to provide the tannic, mildly spicy and refined taste that it has.
This wine is produced from grapes collected in the Maipo valley and has spent eight months in old oak barrels, and possesses a rich fruit forward style.
The nose lends cassis, ripe red cherry, tobacco and liquorice. The palate is full-bodied and intense. The tannins are fine and well balanced. There’s an explosion of black cherry, cassis and toasted spice on the finish.
