Glenfiddich 26 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was created to honor the distillery’s long, continuous line of family ownership since its founding by William Grant in 1887. Glenfiddich Age of Discovery is matured for over a quarter-century exclusively in American Oak, ex-bourbon casks straight from Kentucky. The Quercus Alba wood used in these casks imparts subtle spices and vanilla notes throughout the aging process and contributes to an overall soft and delicate whisky.

Glenfiddich Excellence 26 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky has a rich golden colour, along with an intense nose filled with apricots, orange blossoms, and floral notes reminiscent of fresh rain. The aroma gives way to a powerful body with honey, almonds, leather, and fresh oak, and leads to a delicate and complex finish. Glenfiddich Age of Discovery earned the Gold Medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2013 and was just released in the United States.

In 1886, William Grant, with the help of his nine children and a single stone mason, began construction of the Glenfiddich Distillery, situated in the Speyside region of Scotland. After a year of hard labor, the first drop of whisky fell from the distillerys copper-pot stills on Christmas Day 1887. Today, Grant’s passion, determination, and pioneering spirit continue to guide Glenfiddich Distillery, which is stewarded by the fifth generation of the Grant family.

This rare and aged single malt Scotch whisky has spent 26 long years carefully maturing in American Oak ex-bourbon casks. Unlike all the other expressions in the Glenfiddich age statement range, Excellence is the only bottling (currently) that forgoes sherry influence for a pure ex-bourbon maturation.
