Description
Jagermeister is a digestif made from over 56 herbs and spices which includes licorice, anise, ginger, juniper berries, ginger, ginseng, and citrus peel macerated in a combination of alcohol and water. Produced in Wolfenbuttel Germany by Wilhelm and Curt Mast in 1934.
The recipe has been passed on from generation to generation, so the taste and feel continue to remain the same, bottled in their signature green glass bottle. cSince Mast was a hunter, he drew the inspiration for the classic Jagermeister logo a stag with a glowing cross between its antlers from the tale of St. Hubertus, the patron saint of hunters.
In 2012 the brand launched a branch extension of premixed drinks which come in two flavours, namely raw and ginger lime. It was invented by the son of a vinegar manufacturer, Curt Mast, who was passionate about hunting. Some of the tonic’s known ingredients include star anise and licorice root, which have been used to treat illnesses including skin inflammations like eczema, stomach illnesses, and sore throats
