Description
Ruinart Brut is made from Chardonnay. The grape, mainly harvested from the Cote des Blancs and Montagne de Reims terroirs, is at the heart of all Ruinart cuvées. THE BLEND The blend is made up of 40% Chardonnay, 49% Pinot Noir and 11% Meunier, 20 to 25% of which are wines reserved from the 2 previous years. The grapes are handpicked and the Fermentation is done in temperature-regulated stainless steel fermenters. The word Brut is French for “dry” which means that Brut Champagne is a dry, sparkling wine.
There are actually several different levels of Ruinart Brut, each distinguished by the sweetness and acidity embodied in the wine. Brut champagne, a dry sparkling wine, is the most popular type of champagne exported from France. With a small amount of natural sugars remaining in the wine, brut champagne is a balance of crisp fruit, buttery notes, and minerality. On the nose, it is fresh and vibrant, with aromas of white flowers, peach fruits, and ripe lemon. There are also hints of brioche and honey, which give the wine a subtle richness and complexity. On the palate, it’s crisp and clean, with a bright acidity that balances the wine’s delicate sweetness.
